Dbertc \ June 12, 2026 VIA EMAIL (marktholand@gmail.com) & REGISTERED MAIL PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL Mark Holand 311-318 Agnes Street New Westminster, BC V3L 0J3 Dear Mark: Re: Termination of Employment We write to inform you that your employment with B.C. Rapid Transit Company (“BCRTC’) is terminated effective immediately, and for just cause and, alternatively, our conclusion that you have abandoned your employment. You have been off work continuously since approximately January 29, 2026. On repeated occasions throughout your absence, BCRTC has requested that you provide us with medical information to which we are entitled to justify your absence and/or to determine what, if any, accommodations may be required. However, and for improper and unjustifiable reasons, you have refused to provide us with the information required. Crucially, this course of improper conduct has continued despite the fact that: (a) you have long been aware that BCRTC considers the information that you have provided us to date to be incapable of justifying your continued absence and, as a result, considers you to be absent without leave (“AWOL”); (b) we have provided you with multiple opportunities to provide us with the required information, including by extending deadlines previously set; (c) you have been in communication with BCRTC regarding other matters; and (d) you have been advised on multiple occasions that a failure to provide the information being requested was placing your employment in serious jeopardy of being terminated. In particular, on May 5, 2026, you were given a deadline of June 3, 2026, to provide us with the required information. You have failed to comply with this deadline. Indeed, as of the date of this 3102774.1
