NARRATIVE:

Mark brings a strong operational background to the Communications course, having
transitioned from the Guideway department and with prior experience working for CN Rail.
This experience has provided him with a solid understanding of rail operations and safety-
focused work environments, which has supported his learning throughout the course.

Throughout the course, Mark has demonstrated a practical, experience-based approach to
learning. drawing on his operational background to make sense of new systems and
procedures. He has shown a developing understanding of the Communications equipment and
workflows, and he continues to adapt to the Control Centre environment as he builds
familiarity with the role.

Mark’s engagement in both the theoretical and practical components has been steady. As is
evidenced by his quiz average of 93.3% and a final written exam score of 88%. With
continued exposure and hands on practice, he is well positioned to further strengthen his
proficiency with the Communications systems. His operational experience and adaptability
provide a strong foundation as he continues into the OJT phase of the Communications
Operator Training Program.
