e Current Status: | suffer from hyperacusis (painful sensitivity to sound), which makes
everyday environments agonizing.

V. The "Safety Paradox" of the Control Room

As of next week, | am being moved to the Control Room (On-the-Job training). This presents
a critical challenge to my recovery and workplace safety:

e The Communication Barrier: Because my role requires monitoring radios, verbal
coordination, and alarms, standard hearing protection is not a viable solution.
Wearing foam or plastic plugs to protect my traumatized ears would render me
unable to hear life-safety information, creating a secondary safety risk.

e The Catch-22: My ears require "Acoustic Rest" to heal from the trauma inflicted by
the server rack, yet the control room environment (fans, radios, voices) acts as a
constant irritant to my hyper-sensitive auditory nerve.

a workspace where | can communicate safely without further damaging my health.

request:

2. Medical accommodation that allows for "Acoustic Sanctuary" (regular silent breaks).

3. Provision of Active/Electronic Hearing Protection that filters hazardous peaks
