Reported to instructor. Multi-day migraines begin. Loss of sleep intensifies. Sunday 25-Jan First Emergency Visit Went to Royal Columbian Emergency to rule out infection as ear pain continues. Sleep until 12pm. Headaches continue, ear pain persists. Tuesday 27-Jan Return to Work Refuse to sit at workstation 3, leading to less simulator time. Must use instructors' workstation at front of classroom. Ears now sensitized to sound. Even sitting 20ft away hurts ears. Now wearing ear plugs when practicable. Tuesday 27-Jan Safety Concern Dismissed Had meeting with Austin Puder and Breanne Douglas, Union rep Robby Bul. Was advised sound levels at workstation 3 were tested by OCH and S, and found to be below hearing damage range (85db). The manager then stated that if I could not deal with some server noise, then maybe I could not work in the control room, as alarms reach 75db. I countered that in the control room, Alarms are intermittent sounds, not constant. In the control room I would not have a server fan in my ear all day. I informed him of my ear pain, and asked advice on next steps. He said, if you need to, take it to work safe. 68B138 (24/09) Page 2 of 6
