That evening, | attended Emergency Room #1 at Royal Columbian Hospital. My first sick day from work followed the next morning β January 26. January 25, 2026 β Prior Knowledge of the Problem In my January 25 message to my instructor, | stated: (Jan 25, 10:38] Mark Holand: "What bothers me the most, is that before | came into the classroom, this was a known issue. Emails were sent, nothing was done. | walk into a classroom, not prepared for students." My instructor did not deny this. She acknowledged the infrastructure constraints and redirected to formal process. This constitutes an implicit admission that BCRTC was aware of the noise problem at Workstation 3 before my class began on January 12, 2026, and chose not to remediate it. A Freedom of Information request has been prepared to obtain the internal emails referenced above. January 27, 2026 β Meeting with Austin Puder Attended by Austin Puder (Senior Manager Train Operations), Breanne Douglas (Manager Rail Operations Support), Rabjit Bul (CUPE 7000 Union Representative), and myself. | reported ear pain directly to Austin Puder. He stated the noise was not loud enough to cause hearing damage. | responded that my left ear begged to differ. He suggested | might not be suited for the Control Operator role. He directed me to take it to WorkSafeBC. Austin Puder is the same manager who subsequently signed the adverse employment action letter of March 13, 2026, and who had direct personal knowledge of my ear injury before Arcose was engaged. That knowledge was not communicated to Arcose. January 29, 2026 β Acoustic Trauma Brief Filed Filed with WorkSafeBC at 7:37pm. Contained photographic evidence of the missing side panel, frequency spectral analysis confirming 328Hz mechanical resonance, spatial data documenting asymmetric acoustic pressure between ear positions, and a full clinical description of my symptoms. This document was in the WorkSafeBC file and available to the employer and their consultant. Arcose's survey report references only the January 22 MyHSE safety concern. The January 29 Acoustic Trauma Brief is not mentioned anywhere in the Arcose report. SIX FINDINGS OF METHODOLOGICAL DEFICIENCY Each of the following findings is supported by the documentary record above and by Arcose's own report and the TSI SoundPro DL-1 instrument specifications (Exhibit E).
