Hi Kevin,

| wanted to inform you that we will be meeting with Mark Holland tomorrow at 7:00 PM to
advise him that he has not passed the Communications Control Operator Course. Mark has
fallen too far behind in the program. He was absent on January 26, missed half of January 29,
and has not returned since. As a result, he has missed his on job training and his final practical

examination.

Given the extent of the time lost and the pace of our training schedule, he is now too far behind
to recover, and he will be released from the department effective the date of the meeting. He
will have an opportunity to compete for the position again once we post.

| have already spoken with Guideway, and they are prepared to take Mark back. | have also met
with the Unit Rep for Control and she has a full grasp of the situation.
