I'm writing to ask for your consent to use email to communicate with you.

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) does not allow WorkSafeBC to send
your personal information outside Canada without your consent. This is to protect your personal
information from being accessed by third parties as may be permitted under the laws of other
countries. Many email services route their emails through countries outside Canada and store copies
of emails on servers, including cloud servers, outside Canada. WorkSafeBC takes required steps to
protect the security of your personal information by using encryption when we email you. Emails may
not be protected by encryption once they are received by your email service.

Personal information that may be in emails you send to us and we send to you can include your name,
personal contact details, work details, medical details, payment details, identifiers such as claim
numbers, and other information.

How to provide consent
To give us permission to send emails containing your personal information, please reply to this email
