CLOSING STATEMENT

| did not want this.

| wanted to come back. My shoes are still under the table in the training room where | left them.
My belongings are still in my locker β€” including my $200 MSA MIPS hard hat and my 3M
WorkTunes Connect bluetooth earmuffs. Hearing protection with bluetooth. | use them cutting
wood. | am serious about hearing protection. | have been serious about it for 25 years across
three industries. | wear safety glasses when nobody else does. | own the ear muff attachment
for my hard hat and the safety eye shield.

The worker who owns bluetooth earmuffs for cutting wood in his own backyard was injured by

instructor.

left everything in my locker because | intended to return. | had no plan to be anything other
than what | was β€” a worker going to work, doing the job right, coming home to his family.

was time, when there was money, when the family was settled. Instead | would have spent that
money on a vacation or paid off some debt. | had other priorities. Family first. Always.

investigated that dismissal more thoroughly than the employer.

documented the hazard more rigorously than any assessment that preceded mine.
identified the mechanism of my own injury before any specialist.
