They appear to have simply plugged the racks in.

VIOLATION 2 β€” FIRESTOPPING VIOLATION β€” BC BUILDING CODE SECTION 3.1.9

Cables from the server racks pass through an open ceiling panel with no firestopping
material applied.

BC Building Code 2018 Section 3.1.9 requires that all items penetrating a required fire
separation be tightly fitted or firestopped to maintain the fire resistance integrity of
that separation. The firestop system must achieve an F Rating β€” preventing flames
from passing through β€” for the full fire resistance rating of the barrier being
penetrated.

This ceiling penetration has no firestopping whatsoever. In the event of fire, smoke
and flame will travel freely between floors through this unsealed pathway. This is a
direct and unambiguous violation of BC Building Code Section 3.1.9.

Photographic evidence is attached.
