Hi there | have looked into the WI (50078 contract) and LTD policy wording and have found this. An employee who resigns or is terminated while still medically supported will continue to have claims adjudicated and payroll will continue to process disability payment to the employee. As the date of disability was prior to their termination of employment and they continue to satisfy definition of disability, CL will continue to manage and pay the WIC/LTD claims. CL understand there will be no position to return to and they will continue to work on increasing Mark’s functional abilities where they would no longer meet the definition of disability and their LTD claim would close. lam not sure why LR advised not to pay the STD benefits for this employee, when the policy states that payroll will continue to process disability payments to the employee. Can you confirm this with LR?
